We want to share an important update with our international TapeLab community regarding shipping within the European Union.
As of August 12, 2026, new EU rules under the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) have started to apply. These regulations introduce new and harmonized requirements around packaging, recycling and extended producer responsibility across the European Union.
For e-commerce businesses selling directly to consumers across multiple EU countries, this can involve additional country-specific registrations, reporting requirements, recycling contributions and other administrative obligations.
What does this mean for TapeLab?
While we fully assess the new requirements and determine the best way forward, we have made the decision to temporarily suspend direct shipping from TapeLab to EU countries outside Germany.
Orders within Germany remain available as usual.
If you have recently visited our store from another EU country and wondered why shipping to your country is no longer available – this is the reason.
We know this is frustrating, especially for those of you who have been ordering and using TapeLab products for years, and we are sorry for the inconvenience.
What happens next?
At the moment, we are evaluating several options for the future of TapeLab.
One possibility is to make our products available internationally through wholesalers and independent online retailers. This could allow TapeLab products to remain available in other European countries without us handling every direct-to-consumer shipment ourselves.
We are also considering what the best long-term future for TapeLab as a brand looks like.
Over the years, TapeLab has grown into much more than just an online store. Together with you, we have built a huge international community around our products and the sports we love.
Today, the TapeLab community includes approximately:
- 500,000 followers on TikTok
- 200,000 followers on Facebook
- 30,000 followers on Instagram
Interested in working with or continuing TapeLab?
For that reason, simply letting TapeLab disappear is not something we want to do.
One of the options we are therefore considering is handing over or selling the TapeLab brand to someone who wants to continue and further develop what has been built over the years.
